Overview
Hidden Shadows lives on its own NFT contract but runs on the shared ecosystem token $DANIMLS-V1. On every mint, 50% of the fee is burned and 50% is routed to NFT holders (Degen Animls & Hidden Shadows) via the reward pool logic.
Each Shadow also carries a story fragment. When every skin is minted, the full narrative is revealed...binding the set into the Degen Animls universe.
Tiers & Reward Weighting
Common
Mint cost: 100,000 $DANIMLS-V1
Counts as 2 Degen Animls in the NFT reward pool (since 1 Degen equals 50k).
Rare
Mint cost: 250,000 $DANIMLS-V1
Counts as 5 Degen Animls in the NFT reward pool.
Ascended
Mint cost: 500,000 $DANIMLS-V1
Counts as 10 Degen Animls in the NFT reward pool.
Mathematically Bullish Mechanics
Per-Mint Flow
Mint Fee = X $DANIMLS-V1
Burned = 0.50 × X
Distributed to Holders = 0.50 × X
As mint count grows, circulating supply decreases (burn), while existing holders receive ongoing yield (distribution). Scarcity up, holder cashflow up.
Reward Pool Weighting
1 Degen Animl = 50,000 Danimls-V1
Common Shadow = 100,000 (≙ 2 Degens)
Rare Shadow = 250,000 (≙ 5 Degens)
Ascended Shadow = 500,000 (≙ 10 Degens)
Distributions scale with weight, so higher-tier Shadows receive proportionally larger rewards without breaking the burn economics.
Lore: The Story Hidden in the Dark
Every Shadow carries a fragment of the Hidden Codex...a line of dialogue, a symbol, a map coordinate, a receipt from the past. As collectors mint through the tiers, the Codex fills. When the final skin is minted, the full story is revealed on-chain and in-world.
"They remember. They watch. They interfere." ... excerpt from the Codex

FAQ
How are rewards split on each mint?
Exactly 50% of the mint fee is burned, and exactly 50% is paid to NFT holders across Degen Animls + Hidden Shadows based on weighting.
Does Hidden Shadows use the same token?
Yes. Hidden Shadows has a separate NFT contract but uses the shared ecosystem token $DANIMLS-V1.
What makes it “mathematically bullish”?
Each mint removes supply (burn) and simultaneously increases holder rewards (distribution). Over time this creates upward pressure via scarcity while feeding yield to participants.
When will the full story unlock?
When all skins are minted. Each token contains a piece of the narrative that assembles into a complete reveal.
How are NFT holder rewards determined?
Rewards are distributed based on a tiered system that uses the number of NFTs held by each address at the time of distribution.
- Tier 1 (1–3 Degen Animl NFTs): Receives 20% of the total ETH and token reward pool.
- Tier 2 (4–9 Degen Animl NFTs): Receives 30% of the total pool.
- Tier 3 (10+ Degen Animl NFTs): Receives 50% of the total pool.
If a tier has no eligible holders, its allocation is redistributed proportionally among the remaining tiers. For example, if no Tier 3 wallets exist, its 50% share is split between Tiers 1 and 2 based on their total NFT counts.
Within each tier, rewards are divided pro rata according to each holder’s number of NFTs. The more NFTs a wallet holds, the larger its share of that tier’s pool.
This logic is fully automated in the reward script, which scans all NFT transfers, aggregates ownership, and outputs weighted ETH and token payouts for each holder.
Reward Pool Tier Conversion (Animls + Shadows)
| Reward Tier | Equivalent NFTs Held | Examples of Holdings | Share of Reward Pool |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 (1–3 Degen NFTs) | 1 – 3 total Degen equivalents | 1 Degen Animl NFT 1 Common Shadow (= 2 Degens) 1 Common + 1 Degen (= 3 Degens) |
20% of total ETH + token rewards |
| Tier 2 (4–9 Degen NFTs) | 4 – 9 Degen equivalents | 2 Common Shadows (= 4 Degens) 1 Rare Shadow (= 5 Degens) 1 Rare + 2 Degens (= 7 Degens) |
30% of total ETH + token rewards |
| Tier 3 (10+ Degen NFTs) | 10 or more Degen equivalents | 1 Ascended Shadow (= 10 Degens) 2 Rare Shadows (= 10 Degens) 1 Ascended + 1 Common (= 12 Degens) |
50% of total ETH + token rewards |
In short, Commons = 2 Degens, Rares = 5 Degens, and Ascended = 10 Degens. Hidden Shadows automatically boost your weight in the holder reward system, meaning even a single Ascended Shadow places you directly in Tier 3.
